Heidi’s Clubhouse Is TONIGHT!
Is a free class all about essential oils!  My friends from Georgia, Elle and Alex are going to give a virtual class about all things oily for your home!  These women areknowledgeable and funny… plus this is the first ever virtual class, so join us on Tuesday, October 23rd 5:30-7:30 to see how we make this happen.  (Actually to see how they make this happen because I don’t know how to do any of this techie stuff!)Sign up here.  And if you want to check them out beforehand, follow them on social media @oilnout on Facebook and Instagram. Heidi and Peter…
The man in this photo with me is Peter.  He is my first cousin twice removed, (yes, I had to look that up).  And he is amazing!  In his professional life, Peter was a professor.  And I think that he is quite possibly one of the most intelligent, positive people I will ever know!  Peter suffered a stroke years ago and had to relearn all of the basic human skills as well as the multitude of languages and information he has stored in his brain!  When I was in Switzerland, he took a few minutes and told, my Aunt Kathy, Beat and myself about the way in which the brain grows.  As he told us, contrary to popular belief, our brain cells do not multiply as we learn new activities, we actually create new neurological pathways.  Physical activity and most importantly NEW activities are what strengthen your brain.  So, if you have been doing the crossword puzzle every day thinking that you are helping your brain… try doing some push ups and then using an app to learn a new language!  And maybe when you are 78, you will still be as sharp as Peter is.  I found this youtube video that is about 18 minutes long that explains this better than I ever could.  It is truly worth the coffee break to watch it!
*And as a side note, I am convinced that it is in my genetics to have a positive attitude!Baby Farm Animals
This video is baby farm animals… because after all of that strenuous work thinking about your brain, you deserve a break!  But I also wanted to talk about a post I did on Instagram over the weekend.
I went to visit my friends Tiffany and Andy at their farm on Sunday.  They have a new puppy and they have baby pigs.  I love my friend Tiffany, but I really love puppies and really any baby animal!  After I made the post, I had quite a few people ask me how I could “get to know” the baby pigs that would eventually become the bacon in my freezer.  Well, the answer is that I have the ability to compartmentalize.  I love baby animals… and I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing with the piglets.  And, at the time, I didn’t think about them being my food, I just enjoyed the moment!  However, when I think about those same piglets eventually becoming my food, I am grateful to Andy and Tiffany for raising their animals with fresh air, sunshine and love.  You can find loads of pictures on the internet of animals that are food sources that have a hellish life experience on earth…
Bottom line, make choices that work for you. What to DO When You Feel Overwhelmed
Let me tell you about my schedule today:  I was awake at 5:15am so that I could write this email.  I first spent about 15 minutes writing down my waking thoughts, my dreams and my gratitude list.  Then I spent about 5 minutes writing down all of the things I need to remember, like making the time to get the snacks for the clubhouse tonight, and looking for fabric to recover my barstools…
It is now 7:53am.  (Yes, writing this email takes a bit of time and planning), and at 8:30am I am going to meet my friend, Katie at the track so that I can get in an hour of walk and talk time.  From 11-12:30 I have a coaching call with a client of mine.  At 3:30 I have a Chamber board meeting until 4:45pm (I will leave a bit early), and then to the Clubhouse to prepare for the meeting which starts at 5:30pm.  THEN, at 6pm I need to sneak over to City Hall to address the City Council, (a quick 15 minute thing), back to Heidi’s Clubhouse until 7:30, a quick clean up and then off to play practice at the Paradise until 9pm or so.WHEW!  Throw in a little meal prep, grocery store and post office run and a shower, and that’s a full day!

And you know how I keep from feeling overwhelmed about it all?  I DECIDE to focus on one task at a time!  I use my morning time to brain dump, and I am utterly grateful for every opportunity in my life!  Making the DECISION to look at all of these things as a blessing instead of one more thing that I have to do, is how I do it… EVERY day!  Watch this 3 minute video to see how Mel Robbins explains it.
If you need some help in learning how to manage your life, and see the opportunities and not the obstacles, contact me.  What I do is something I’ve learned to do… because I asked for help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for sharing it with people you care about.  I am so incredibly grateful!!

Remember, you have One Life, Make it Awesome!
Have a glorious day!
