Sorry for the delay!  I didn’t forget about you!  But, I did need to buy a new modem and a new router!  Whew!

I never knew how much I depend on having the internet right at my fingertips, literally!  Our internet started to give us some trouble with slower speeds last week, and by the time we returned from a short get-away over the weekend, it was toast!  Thank goodness for Youtube videos!

It really is hard to believe that Labor Day has come and gone and now the season of back to school, crockpot dinners and football are upon us!  For those of you who don’t know, our dog’s name is Jordy Nelson Thomas.  Now we call him George.  Rick is still a Packer fan, but I really only cared because of Jordy.  Any families out there with split fan bases?  It certainly can make it interesting.  I’m looking at this season as an opportunity to “find my calling” when it comes to cheering for a team… I think I’ll switch to college ball and root for Tennesseeor Clemson.  The orange rules!   Who am I kidding?  I really love football mostly for the food!  Check out this easy, yummy, keto friendly appetizer!

I don’t know about you, but staying focused when the days are beautiful, (and we here in Minnesota know that they’re limited), can be really difficult.  Hear what Mel has to say about staying focused.  See, I told you not to sleep with your phone next to you!

The next Heidi’s Clubhouse is on Tuesday, September 11th, 5:30-7:30pm.  We are going to discuss the book, The Gift of Fear by Gavin De Becker before the presentation by Officer Lisa Petricka.  This is a fascinating book about learning to pay attention to signals and your gut instinct when you are in potentially dangerous situations.  You really, really, really won’t want to miss this one, so sign up here.

No one ever said that being over 40, (okay, 50), is easy and this past week I think I spent a little too much time looking in the mirror holding parts of my skin back!  That part of aging sucks, but the bonus of finally figuring out what I am doing with my life makes up for it!  almost.  I had a person from my past send me a very funny, inspirational video last week, (too much “language” to share it here), and I realized that sometimes it’s the people who have known us the longest, who know us the best.  This is my way of saying that the woman looking back at you in the mirror is the same one with the same dreams that was looking back 25 years ago… listen to her!
